About the Hamill's Killer Trout Fly

Hamill's Killer is a popular fishing pattern originating from New Zealand representing small fry such as a bully.

Success can be found when casting the fly close to the banks, and is an ideal fishing fly when fishing amongst weed beds.

This lure was developed in the 1960’s by Bill Hamill, the founder of Hamill's Sports. It was designed as a killer fly when fishing the trout of Lake Rerewhakaaitu.

Expert Tip:

Used mainly for still water fly fishing, it is also effective when wet lining slower river waters. Retrieve this fishing fly with a smooth pull followed by short pauses.
