Fly Fishing Lures
Fly Fishing Lures are large flies of the streamer, bucktail and sculpin variety used to imitate baitfish, aggravate or act as 'attractors'.
From lakes to streams, you will catch all types of fish on good lure patterns. Form, flash and action are what makes an excellent choice for a lure trout fly, colours are strong but largely down to personal preference, whether it be black to cause a silhouette effect when fish look up from the depths, or a bright colour such as orange to attract the attention of a passing fish.
This Apache series is probably the most exciting search pattern to hit stillwaters, lakes, ponds and reservoirs. We have upgraded from rabbit fur to a first class Mink fur body which gives these apache flies such tantalizing, pulsating dynamics in the water. The benefits of using Mink fur is well worth the small extra expense to achieve a superb killing pattern.
The pulsing movement of the Mink body plus the stimulating flowing and eye catching movement of the marabou & flashabou tail is a serious killer. Perform two to three short jerks followed by a steady retrieve, then pause and leave to rest so that the Apache slowly sinks in the water. Repeat this movement and be ready for savage takes as the fish stalk this pattern and commit to the kill on the pause.
We have recently restarted production of our Apache range. This range is in high demand, so if some are unavailable, please register your interest to be notified once back in stock.
