About the OK-D Black and Green Eyes Buzzer Trout Fly
The OK-D Black & Green Eyes Buzzer is a smart little stillwater buzzer that gets the balance just right: sparse enough to look natural, but with punchy green "eyes" that give trout something to lock onto. That mix of subtlety and colour is a proven combination, and Fish4Flies notes it regularly brings fish to the net.
With its slim, epoxy-coated body and crisp segmentation, it offers a convincing chironomid (buzzer) pupa profile, ideal for fishing the top layers during a hatch or letting it sink and hang when fish are intercepting pupae at depth. Like all good buzzer patterns, it’s aimed squarely at lakes, ponds and reservoirs, where buzzers are a staple food item for resident trout.
Fishing Tips:
- Fish on a floating line with a long leader and let it drift and hang. Many buzzer takes come when the fly is static or sinking slowly.
- Add a slow figure-of-eight to keep it moving naturally.
- On breezy days or if fish are deeper, an intermediate line and a gentle retrieve can keep it in the feeding lane longer.
