About the Light Hendrickson Trout Fly

The Light Hendrickson, as the name suggests is a variant of the Hendrickson and was devised by Art Flick in the 1940s to imitate the Ephemerella Subvaria.

Expert Tip:

This example incorporates Flick's use of urine burned belly fur fron the vixen red fox, dubbed to produce a slightly more pale and pinkish body.

  • Hook : 12-16.
  • Thread : Light tan.
  • Tail : Dun hackle barbs.
  • Wing : Lemon flank from wood duck.
  • Body : Urine burned red fox belly fur.
  • Hackle : Dun hackle.

An alternative for the wing is dye mallard.
